MORE THAN JUST GOOD LOOKS!

Tinting the windows of your vehicle offers an array of benefits besides just looking hot and feeling cool. The technology that goes into our selection of premium window films is industry-leading, offering superior solar performance and long lasting results.

Heat Rejection

Our window films reject anywhere from 33-71% of total solar heat & up to 98% of IR heat, leaving you with a more temperature controlled interior for comfortable driving.

Glare Reduction

The amount of glare reduced is directly related to how dark your window film is. Our window films block anywhere from 30-96% of unwanted glare.

UV Protection

You can expect no less than 99% of harmful UVA & UVB rays to be completely blocked with any one of our high quality automotive window films.

Security

Tinted windows help to keep your valuables hidden while your vehicle is unattended plus strengthens your glass to make entry through the window more difficult.

Privacy

Keep those prying eyes out at all times! Whether your’e at the lights or in the parking lot, tinted windows allow you to go about your business without being glared at.

Safety

Tinting your vehicles glass will help to increase the break strength by adding a microscopic layer of high tensile materials, keeping broken glass shards together upon shattering.

Protects Interior

Your vehicles interior is susceptible to breakdown more-so here in Tasman than many other places due to our sunny weather. Tint will eliminate fading & UV damage.

Anti-Ageing

Our window films are designed with an SPF of up to 1000 to keep you protected, preventing premature skin ageing plus less eye strain for those with cataracts.

Energy Savings

High heat rejecting films promote less use of air-con which can save you miles in fuel & battery life (for those electric cars). Air-con is the No.1 drain of your battery in a Tesla.

Stylish Looks

Of course tinting the windows of your vehicle will make it look ten times better. We reckon tinted windows are the best value for money visual upgrade you can get.

HOW DARK IS LEGAL?

What is VLT? VLT refers to the amount of Visible Light that is Transmitted through the glass. To put it simply, the lower the VLT%, the darker the film/glass. New Zealand has specific laws when it comes to having tinted windows on your ride. Most passenger vehicles being sedans, hatchbacks, sports cars, station wagons and people movers (MA class) are limited to 35% VLT on all the side windows and rear screen, whereas off-road, utility or commercial grade vehicles (MC & NA class) can be tinted to any darkness behind the driver. Tinting the whole front windscreen of most vehicles is illegal in NZ as the overall VLT limit of any windscreen is to be no less than 70% VLT. A visor strip of any darkness can be added to any windscreen providing it is within 100mm from the top edge of the glass. Silver, reflective or partially reflective window films are classed as illegal in NZ.

FAQ’s ABOUT YOUR INSTALL

Do i need to clean my windows beforehand?
No. We scrape, scrub, rinse & repeat to ensure your windows are 100% clear of contaminants before tinting, so don’t stress about cleaning them too much before we start, although we do charge for existing window film removal or old tint glue removal.

What if I have existing window tint that needs removal?
Please be sure to check your vehicles glass for existing window film or old film residue and let us know prior to booking. Removal can be very time consuming so we do charge for this service. Film removal can take up to 2 hours for a full vehicle, sometimes even longer. You can expect to pay around $100 for a standard sized vehicle’s tint removal. In some cases this may be more or less.

What do I need to supply for mobile service?
We do require somewhere completely wind free & out of the sun or rain with enough room to fully open the doors in order to tint your vehicle. Even the slightest breeze can pick up dust and contaminants which can easily blow between the film and glass upon installation, which is why we do not tint outside. Your window film is shaped on the outside of the vehicle which is a tedious & precise process, so a mostly enclosed garage or warehouse is ideal for us to execute the high quality finish we are known for. Car ports can work if they’re enclosed on 3 sides. Do not stress too much about extra lighting as we bring what we need. We also require access to a power point for our heat gun & enough room to set up a small portable cutting table out of the weather.

Do you remove my windows to tint them?
Almost all windows are tinted in place. We do not remove glass on 99% of vehicles for an efficient and risk free install, although we do have a professional glass guy on speed dial who can help with removal & re-install of your windows if required. We will always notify you if this is necessary before hand, as there may be an added cost for this service. Some vehicles require door panel or window sweep removal for ease of installation which we are very experienced at.

How long does it take to tint my vehicle?
Most smaller vehicles take around 1.5 hours to tint. Sedans, station wagons & 4x4s generally up to 2.5 hours and some vehicles such as campers, older classic cars & larger vehicles can take 3 -4 hours. We do not like to rush so lenience is appreciated.

How long does it take for the tint to cure?
Window film is installed with a special mounting solution made up of soap and water to allow us to slide the film correctly into position upon installation. We squeegee 99% of this solution out however the remaining thin layer needs to dry naturally. During this process, the left over mounting solution will “pool” into small “moisture blisters” which can take up to a week in the colder months to completely dry out. You MUST leave your windows up for 48 hours after install & DO NOT attempt to prick or squish out any moisture.

How do I look after my tint?
Aside from leaving your windows up for the first 2 days, your new window film requires little to no maintenance. All that is required is that you stay away from ammonia based glass cleaner, abrasive materials and harsh chemicals when wiping clean your tint. A lint-free microfiber cloth, hot soapy water and tint-safe glass cleaner should remove 99% of grime & streaks.
